Out of Hours

oohFor urgent medical advice when the surgery is closed you should ring the surgery number and you will automatically be transferred to the GP Collaborative which is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Outpatient Department. 

If you have an urgent problem which will not wait until the next surgery then you can contact the out-of-hours service via our 0845 numbers:

  • 111 - NHS 111 Free Help Line

Calls may be dealt with by NHS 111 or you may be phoned by a doctor, nurse or Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) who may advise you over the phone or ask you to attend the Primary Care Centre.  If a visit is needed then this will be arranged.  (A doctor, nurse or ECP may visit you).  All calls may be recorded.


Hubs

Evening and weekend appointments are available to patients of the Practice at one of the GP access centres across Sheffield - 6pm-10pm weekdays and 10am-6pm at weekends. During our opening hours you would need to talk to a GP at the surgery who will book you into one of these slots if it is deemed appropriate.

Sheffield GP Walk-In Centre

The Sheffield City GP Health Centre is at Rockingham House on Broad Lane in the centre of Sheffield.  It offers healthcare to any Sheffield resident and is open 8.00am to 8.00pm every day. Any member of the public can simply walk in and see a doctor or nurse at the centre or phone and book an appointment in advance. You can visit Sheffield City GP Health Centre with minor ailments that you would usually take to your own GP. You will be able to receive healthcare advice, information and treatment. Minor Injuries Unit

There are two Minor Injuries Units in Sheffield, one on B Floor at the Hallamshire Hospital and one attached to A&E at the Northern General Hospital. The nurses here treat all sorts of minor injuries such as cuts, grazes, lacerations, sprains and strains, broken bones, infected wounds, bites and stings, minor head injuries, etc. The Hallamshire unit open from 8.00am to 8.00pm seven days a week.

Accident and Emergency

For other accidents and emergencies for adults the unit is at the Northern General. Under 16 year olds should go to the Children’s Hospital.
